AMANDA HARRINGTON LONDON X HARVEY NICHOLS
Liverpool, known for its football, the Beatles and its glamour, naturally the city was the first stop in the Amanda Harrington London x Harvey Nichols roadshow. Home to Harvey Nichols’ impressive one-stop destination store, Beauty Bazaar – exquisitely curated and over three-floors, where one can shop all things beauty, fragrance and treatments.
Team AHL hosted an intimate press & influencer Q&A and tanning masterclass breakfast with Amanda, Liverpool is a familiar place for Amanda, she has family from there, so adored being able to chat to guests about all thing’s skincare and tanning.
Amanda told the story of how she started her own brand, took guests through the range; how each product works effectively with the other – something crucial in the world of tanning, as often skincare products can cause tan to separate on the skin – Amanda’s skincare range was designed specifically to be tan-compatible.
This was followed by a live demonstration with Amanda personally matching the guest’s skin tones. After using the super-hydrating Glycolic facial pads, Amanda delivered her 3-Step Method for the face using the product in the guest’s gifted Face Sets.
Once the event finished team AHL headed for a light refreshment at The Bridewell, a truly unique pub – it’s a converted prison so boats original ‘cell’ areas and interestingly, was used by the US Military during WW2.
A short walk around the corner to Duke Street Market – a London-esq ‘street food’ hub. With local run mini restaurants inside, it is also home to top floor restaurant, Pilgrim – winners of the BBC’s Million Pound Menu. After a long day, a much-needed delightful sleep was had at Epic Hotel Seel Street – a newly refurbished hotel in the heart of Liverpool’s vibrant city centre.
Next stop, Manchester and straight to the uber cool boutique hotel, Dakota. Opened in June in the city’s Northern Quarter, Amanda hosted 1:1 Bespoke Body Contour tans with selected influencers, press and Harvey Nichols Manchester’s VIP customers in the Dakota Signature Suite.
That evening, the team headed to Spinningfields – a modern and urban regeneration area boasting high-end stores, restaurants, bars and companies. Stopping off for a cocktail at the stylish bar/restaurant Australasia and finishing off with dinner at Tattu – the most incredible fusion restaurant and arguably the most Instagrammed place in Manchester!
The next morning opened with the Bronzing Bar in the middle of Harvey Nichols’ Manchester Beyond Beauty floor. Customers experienced the 3-Step Method for the face, having a semi-permanent bronzed glow applied. Amanda was on hand to give personal skin tone advice and share her expert tips and tricks for the perfect tan.
The final stop on the AHL x HN roadshow, bonnie Scotland! The start of the two-day event was exclusive 1:1 Bespoke Body Contour tans for press and influencers. These took place in the Directors Suite at The Edinburgh Grand which was the perfect blend of period features, offset with contemporary interior detailing throughout.
After a busy day of travelling and tans, the team booked a table at the family-owned Italian restaurant Contini. The restaurant is a converted banking hall and is modelled on a Florentine Palazzo, they serve authentic Italian dishes and pride themselves on using local produce to pay tribute to their family history in Scotland.
The second and final part of the Scottish tour was an intimate customer event at Harvey Nichols Edinburgh’s Style Concierge where 10 customers bought tickets to Amanda’s exclusive tanning masterclass.
Prosecco and salted caramel macaroons were served as guests listened to Amanda talk about her passion for safe sunless tanning and the history behind her brand. Amanda talked through her revolutionary 3-Step Method for the face and body – followed by a live demo of face and décolletage sun-kissed tanning.
To celebrate the end of the roadshows, the AHL team had cocktails at Lady Libertine – the basement bar at The Edinburgh Grand. After cocktails, dinner was had at The Refinery – a trendy new restaurant with modern industrial decor mixed with Scottish comforts.
